Winton’s ability to analyze, understand and communicate complex issues as an Associated Press journalist helped foster a passion for civic involvement and public service. Winton has held numerous positions in several non-profit organizations, including being vice president of the Key Colony Homeowners’ Association, president of the Botanica Condominium, and president of the News Media Guild, a labor union representing journalists nationwide. Winton also currently serves as an elder at Crossbridge Church (formerly Key Biscayne Presbyterian).

Winton has won multiple Edward R. Murrow awards. In 2015, he founded Key Content, helping municipalities, non-profit organizations, and corporations to convey complicated and, often times, sensitive information to the public at large. In this capacity, Tony has been recognized as a keen problem solver and person capable of bringing teams of people holding disparate views together to achieve a common goal.

Born in Chicago in 1961, Tony is a 1983 graduate of New York’s Columbia College. He is married to Irene Porter, an appellate attorney, and has a son and two stepdaughters.
